중국의 회화작가 신지엔(Lu Xinjian)은 그의 ‘City DNA’ 시리즈에서 도시의 항공사진을 추상적으로 표현하였습니다.

구글 어스(Google Earth)의 항공사진에서 패턴을 스케치 한 후 어도비 일러스트레이터(Adobe Illustrator)와
커팅 플로터를 이용하여 스텐실을 만들고 캔버스에 유화로 작업을 하는 방법을 이용하였는데요.

혼돈스러운 선들과 색상들이 첫눈에는 그래픽처럼 느껴지면서 키스 해링(Keith Haring)을 연상시키지만,
그림은 제목처럼 계획된 혹은 자연스럽게 조직된 도시구조와 형태를 표현한 것이며 도시별 색상은 그 나라 혹은 도시의 국기에 기초한 것이라고 합니다.
